This is a hybrid role; Hybrid colleagues work a mix of in-office and virtual days, coming into the office 2-3 days per week on average. Leaders and colleagues will plan common days for in-person connection, collaboration, and events.Under the general supervision of the Vice President & Senior Counsel, the Manager & Counsel is responsible for management of complex subpoena productions, legal reviews of escalated legal orders, paralegal supervision and development to ensure quality work, and meet and confer communication with issuers of escalated legal orders.

Actively supervise a paralegal team who lead operations specialists performing indexing, decisioning, and fulfillment of legal orders issued by federal and state government agencies and private attorneys. Provide legal support to ensure that legal order processing is expeditiously and accurately handled in a manner that ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations.Manage and work on complex subpoena productions (class action subpoenas, civil investigative demands, motions, objections, court orders).

Prepare responses to non-routine or escalated legal requests.Manage escalations and/or litigation matters concerning legal orders across the enterprise.Prepare enterprise-wide company witnesses, inclusive of 30(b)(6) testimony, for deposition(s).

Research and analyze statutes and case law as required for resolving legal order escalations.Ensure that fulfillment of third-party legal orders meets the requirements of federal and state privacy laws.Support Vice President & Senior Counsel when required.

Escalate legal requests to the Vice President & Senior Counsel when required.Actively manage paralegal escalation caseloads and output.Support and provide guidance to paralegals on doubts in the decisioning or fulfillment of legal requests.

Monitor performance and provide coaching for performance improvement and development of paralegals.Review the quality of paralegal work to ensure the accuracy and quality meets the applicable procedures and standards.Conduct annual RFPA trainings and provide substantive guidance for other required trainings for the legal order processing team.

Meet and confer with issuers of escalated legal requests when required. Maintain the confidentiality of information of legal requests or other information provided by issuers.Contribute to the development or update of business specific procedures to improve and streamline legal order processing.

Provide clear reporting and metrics regularly to leadership concerning escalations, team output, or any trends relating to legal order processing.Support and collaborate with leadership on projects aimed at leveraging data analytics and process improvements to streamline and improve legal order processing.Adhere to Amex risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls and identify and promptly escalate and manage legal or operational issues to management.Minimum Qualifications:J.D.

with admission to practice law in Florida in good standing.6+ years of litigation experience in a law firm and/or in-house corporate environment independently handling a broad range of litigation matters.Experience leading paralegal teams and/or working with complex and large volume discovery matters.

Consistent track record as a trusted advisor to business clients.Executive presence and ability to effectively interact at all levels within and outside of the organization.Ability to convey legal advice clearly and consistently at all levels within the organization and synthesize complex issues for business leaders.

Understanding of how to effectively navigate challenges with legal order processing.Comfortable with learning new processes and using technology tools.Ability to move seamlessly between multiple priorities.

Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.Highly organized with a track record of pushing initiatives to timely completion.Meticulous attention to detail.

A strong work ethic, a can-do attitude, flexibility and genuine enthusiasm to assist with other assignments, projects and cases when needed.Passion for working towards creative, solution-oriented outcomes that effectively address legal requirements and operational needs.Additional Details:Location: Sunrise, Florida.
